Finally was able to do one element of my holiday baking! Butter tarts - best known for being delicious all year round. I normally make them with my other Christmas baking, but this year moving meant that I was too tired to bake and also that most of my equipment was hidden in boxes!Butter tarts are so easy. I use my Grandma's recipe but substitute frozen tart shells for hand-made pastry for the sake of convenience. I'm not a big fan of pie crusts and such anyway...
These are always popular - they have golden raisins, coconut and walnuts, as well as all the usual sugar and syrupy goodness! Excellent with a big glass of milk.

I'll have to make some next time we have you all over!
Not to worry I just made some and they look delicious. Thanks for the kind offer though! @:)
I'd just like to say that the world never has enough yummy butter tarts! The more the merrier I think : )
At first glance, those tarts looked like a group of pies, until you look closer & see the wire rack! Have you made those Syrup Bars yet?
Haven't made the bars yet - I think we're all sugared out for the moment!! They sound good though - I'll have to try them some time.
