No posts for a few days as I've been dealing with water issues at home! We sprung several leaks on Sunday after the snow and heavy rain, and our condo started leaking! Steady, heavy leaking from the solarium, down the walls, through to the living room, soaking the floor, and leaks in our bedroom as well. The building we're renting in is I think 11 years old, which probably puts it smack in leaky condo territory!
So, long story short, rather than stay put while our walls are ripped down and carpet is pulled up, and instead of enjoying the construction dust and paint fumes, we have decided to take our landlords up on the "offer" to move. Done!
We're so lucky though - we checked apartments on Craigslist on Tuesday night and on Wednesday morning I went to see a place. It was absolutely beautiful and brand new and perfect for us. The lovely property manager let me apply on the spot and we got news in the afternoon yesterday that we got it! From being potentially homeless (not really, but nearly!) to a brand new place in about 12 hours. A Christmas miracle!
It even has a room for the baby!!! PJs won't have to watch old episodes of Columbo and Murder she Wrote on the laptop with us late at night in our room! It's got fab stainless appliances, dark hardwood and a fireplace. It's at the end of False Creek, just a jot away from the seawall and we are so excited. We're moving December 21st!! HO HO HO!

I am excited that you guys are moving! If you need help don't hesitate to call me:) Plus I hear you have hired Mike the mover:P It will be nice with a second bedroom; PJ won't have to sleep in a drawer for the first couple years of his life ;)

Finding a new place--what good timing that turned out to be! Now you can be dry ALL winter and have an extra room & closet to pack away more stuff!
We're so excited and feel so very lucky to have found a place so quickly and one that will be clean and healthy for PJ's. Not to mention we'll now have an actual room for PJ's! What a blessing!

Thanks everyone for the great positive wishes for us and the move! We are so tremendously excited about the baby's room and we're neck-deep in boxes right now, getting organized. We'll be posting some photos of the new place once we're all in and the box dust settles!
We are both still having a hard time believing that in less than a week we've gone through all the water issues, drama, apartment looking and now box packing. It's been a crazy week, but we're really eager now to get it all done!
