Just received an apology letter from the manager of the offending White Spot location mentioned last week, and a gift certificate for $40...
Not sure if I'll use it and then continue my permanent boycott or give it away here at work. Tempted to do the latter. I appreciate the apology, but I don't think I want to subject my ears or taste buds to another experience just for a free meal...

At least they did actually write back. That's the least you can expect. Even if you don't visit their restaurant again, they will have at least documented the issue.
