I think we're going for 'eclectic' - our stuff won't all match perfectly, but I think it will pull together in the end. We don't all have JLo's nursery budget! (Man, that reference will seem really out of date some day).
I have a few specific artsy ideas in mind that will liven up the room, and we just ordered some awesome Blik wall graphics too - the Alphabet Zoo set in Aruba (light blue). I can just picture these animals marching around the corner by the crib. There were a bunch of other ones I wanted too, but we tried to not get something that would be creepy to a baby! You can configure them any way you like, stick 'em on and they don't leave marks on the walls. This design was originally on a Threadless tee. They have a terrific selection if you have a bare wall that needs a little oomph.I've also been looking for a good reason to buy these great night lights. I think the green & blue combo would go great in PJs room. I'm thisclose to ordering them online. I just love to get fun presents in the mail.

There really is a fine line between cute and strange and just flat-out weird. I like the lamps, that's a good choice and those wall stickers are great too! When they start to remind you of a nightmare before christmas (thanks tim burton) the you know you're on the wrong track :)
I'm glad we sat down together and ordered the decals! I think the "tim burtonesque" graphics Jamie is referring to one of my other favourites:

Hey, they're actually pretty similar to those night lights... Maybe i'm just weird! :-)
I like the stickers, but the lights look like they were manufactured from jello! They might look cute in the right setting, but they just aren't my taste.
