HABA toys recall

Anyone out there with some of these HABA toys? There is a recall - apparently there have been some reports of small pieces coming off! We have the teddy pacifier chain... The recall list states that a small mirrored piece is the culprit on our item, but there never has been a mirror on the one we have. Maybe it fell off before we bought it?! Yay, I guess? A mirror would have been fun, but if it's going to fall off then we're certainly better off without it. Check your items though to be safe!

I hope this doesn't cause people to abandon the generally safe wooden European toys... Life has it's risks and while I want to know about safety issues and recalls (hence the passing along of info) I don't want to become obsessed. Good logical common sense I hope will see us through the minefield of dangerous items.

On that note, did you realize that if crawling on the floor is just too darned dangerous for your little one, you can buy baby knee pads? Which are undoubtedly cute, but are they necessary? I fuss over Cole like a mother hen, but I think this is just a wee bit much. I'm focusing what little energy I have on keeping the floor clean! :-)

Thanks for the info on the HABA recall . . . thankfully none of our items are listed. Love these products!

I came across this blog and thought you might be interested . . . cool items for travelling with little ones:

Thanks for the sweet comments about our photos on FB. We have been going to a local photographer here that we love: www.totshots.ca I think this was our third or fourth session. The one of Isla on the fuzzy blanket is what we used for the tiny prints cards we ordered.

Love the sewing book you posted about . . . it inspired me to call about sewing lessons!!

Hope all is well!

Thanks for the blog link Leah - I'll check it out! We do have some fancy (if far-off) travel plans, so I need some great tips!

And the photographer link - your photos are really lovely. I know that fuzzy one would have looked great in the announcement/thank you!!

Good luck with the sewing lessons! In the end most stuff is pretty much made up of straight and curvy lines - one at a time.
