Splish splash, let's distract Cole in the bath

Couldn't resist posting a couple cute photos of Cole in the tub tonight. At home especially, where we have lots of things to pull up on, he's crazy for standing. The edges of bookshelves, the bed, the couch and us, stacks of books and chair legs and anything else he sees are good launching points for his adventures in standing.

Apparently the tub is turning into one of those places too - he lunges out of the water towards whatever else is sitting on the counter and tries to get up on the edge of the bath itself... We're still bathing him in the sink tub because our big bath has shower doors and a metal rail for them, which make bathing him in the large tub seem like a pain at this point... Anyway, because he's so active, I find I'm trying to distract him with different floating playthings each night. We threw a couple miniature rubber duckies that we had kicking around in there tonight and he definitely liked them. Ducks are popular with him in general and I think he might have thought they were soothers...

Oddly, today when we went to playtime at Sunset Community Centre, which was all kinds of awesome, he was content to play with the stuff, taste inedible objects, look at the other babies (hey kiddies, from Cole - hi Mamas, from me) and make the occasional break for it across the gym floor. No standing at all. I guess there were no objects that looked scalable, except me, and that's debatable!
