barnyard noises

coco and i took a trip to maplewood farms in north vancouver today. we hadn't been for a while - not since the fall and the goat enclosure incident! cole loved the trip - he ran around saying "going to maplewood farms" until we left, told the neighours all about it in the elevator and during the trip there he kept asking "where are the creatures?".

we did see many creatures - they have some baby bunnies and the cutest frolicky-est little lambs and goats too. and this time we even remembered snacks for the bunnies - some carrots and celery and, because we thought they must be feeling ho-hum about the usual, we brought some snap peas and cilantro too. not that they're hurting for food - a school group burst in as we were leaving the hutch and we watched as the kids tried to force-feed the rabbits carrots! tip: if they're sleeping, they're not hungry.

Cute photos, as usual! Petting animals, sounds like it was a fun time! So, when are you and Cole going out to look for a pet to bring home? Maybe something small? :^)

Hey, we were there on Friday, too! But I wouldn't have noticed you amongst the 4,000 other people.

Weren't those lambs just the best? Gamboling away. (I just wanted an excuse to say gamboling.)

crazy that you were there too and we missed you! the kids could have shoved cilantro at the rabbits together! ;-) there were a serious boat load of folks milling about - i'm not surprised we missed each other!

gamboling - oh, the gamboling! that is a perfectly awesome word.

mom - i think the petting zoo is about as close as we're ever going to get to a cute pet, what with jamie's allergies. but never fear - there are always covert trips to the pet store to pet the pets and perhaps we'll get coco some kind of furless creature one day!
