happy mother's day!

my little guy (and my big guy) treated me to a lovely day on sunday.

i should say that sunday was preceded by saturday, a series of treats in itself. jamie needed to take cole shopping for "secret supplies" which left me with hours to dillydally in the sunshine while yard sale shopping and when i got home exhausted and hungry jamie dutifully went up to the sushi place on our corner to get me a tasty box c for lunch. and i enjoyed a little solo fabric shopping after cole's naptime because they needed the house for covert artistic projects... so, i was already pretty spoiled before sunday rolled around!

they surprised me with sweetest presents in bed in the morning. jamie worked with cole to make a painting, a card (complete with random googly eyes and fancy popsicle stickers - jamie said that cole took his time choosing between between popsicles and rock guitars) and a sculpture of cole's hand. i love them all! so sweet that i have to put a photo of us in our pjs looking all rumpled. and yes, i still sometimes wear that nightgown - it's awful but it's really comfortable!

afterwards we went for diner breakfast and had a fine time at the riefel bird sanctuary on westham island. we love it there - especially in the "off season" - it's close yet feels quite like being in the country, and there are ducks a-plenty. we had high hopes of seeing some ducklings and we weren't disappointed! add in an extra-long nap for cole (aka relaxing time for me) and then a bbq at night and i was very spoiled indeed. thanks guys!
