summer - what happened to ye?

holy moly - it seems that every week i think "gee, i should update coco's blog". i begin by thinking of the fun things we've done recently and then flip through photos on my phone or camera. i often get distracted at that stage - cole likes to flip too, and he is a fast hand at running off with one's phone - and then i have to start all over again! or i download the photos (hurdle number one overcome - i should try out for track!) only to get an Important Email or a text from someone nice or realize it's time for dinner or what have you. see also: my ancient laptop decided that making tractor-like sounds and scalding my wrists wasn't enough and it should just break for once and for all. so i'm kind of surprised (but not really!) to see that it's been two months since my last post! eek! although posts about not posting are a little goofy, i guess i feel i have to acknowledge this delay.

anyway, i do in fact have veritable metric scads of cute photos and stories to tell. i might get to that first part first.

starting out fresh today. new laptop / up early / have tea / found iphone cable / sit down already... i'll make do for the moment by posting the first cute photos i came across:

 

 

i found some sparklers at the store recently and waited for an evening when cole was up past his usual not-dark-yet bedtime. i 'm not sure what age i first used sparklers, but i clearly remember that lovely smell, the glow, those little sparks shooting off into the velvety night sky. i think he loved them as much as i did as a kid - and i loved them nearly as much now!
