we're packing - that is to say that jamie is out of town and cole is a small person so i am packing. as a concept or historical event, it's not so bad - i actually really like packing. it gives me another reason to make large trips to sally ann and purge the junk that accumulates in cupboards and drawers and i like abstract strategy games so fitting things into boxes is kind of fun. however... packing with a toddler underfoot is basically impossible. mean, you have to make a mess while you're doing it and it's already a full-time job keeping up with the messes cole makes and the normal amount of crumbs wafting through our house. so, i've been packing a couple boxes during naptimes and trying to pack a few at night too - obviously that's not happening right now, because i'm stalling and writing this.
anyway, when i was cleaning out one of the junk drawers last night (all the drawers pretty much qualify, except the ones with actual drawers - aka underwear) i found the remains of the $1 pack of nefarious mustaches we used at halloween. cole found them this morning and was delighted to see them! he brought them over and wanted to try them on. on himself, on me, on knees and toys and everywhere else. we got a few hilarious photos and a lot of laughs out of them before they started to moult, and then we threw them away. done and done!
