one of many days in canada

cole and i spent canada day last week just doing our usual stuff. i had high hopes of attending some kind of local family fun fest, but the weather was dismal and jamie worked (in exchange for monday off - mid-week holidays are kind of bogus!). not really feeling up for another rainy outdoor jaunt, we drove to the aquarium at stanley park again. cole really loves the frog exhibit and we were in luck and stumbled across the dolphin care show and then another featuring a diver in the big georgia straight tank. we threw pennies in the fountain out front of the aquarium and stomped around for a bit before stopping to eat some lunch on the beach across from lumberman's arch.

later, after nap time, we went over to the royal city farmer's market here in new west. we go most weeks - we're always running into someone and i can't resist the call of fruit and veggies. it was a special canada day market and cole snagged himself a flag and a maple cookie!

we were going to do festive! seasonal! bbq but since it was so crummy and i didn't feel like manhandling meat to make burgers we ended up settling for homemade pizzas once cole went to bed. "settling" being the word i'm using but it doesn't seem to accurately represent just how much i love pizza! all in all it was not the day i had in mind, but it was a lot of fun and just right.

Can't remember, do you make your own dough? If you do, I'd love your recipe.
